# how to install figura avatars
**PLEASE NOTE THAT WEARING A FIGURA AVATAR WILL BREAK IRON'S SPELLS ARMOR VISUALLY!**
you can still wear iron's spells armor for its function, but you'll want to hide it through the cosmetic armor toggles in order to not be a walking missing texture!

instructions:
- open your instance's mc folder by clicking its "Folder" button in prism launcher
- place the zip in `<mc folder>/figura/avatars`
- open the figura menu in-game (blue triangle in pause menu)
- select your chosen model on the left
- click the upload button below the avatar preview, so it can be seen by others!
